other possibility:
The guardsmen were fighting orks but the eldar showed up secretly to ensure the victory of one side over the other

Well, I fail to see a connection to the picture. Maybe this guardsman is taking a glorious victory over some orks in his dream right now? =D In this case the Eldar are to ensure the victory to orks =D
